In my fall 2015 Renaissance column I refer to the benefits of walking 10,000 steps a day for health and wellness. I encourage RTO members to join my personal challenge and see if we can keep up the 10,000 steps a day – most days anyway. I did a little bit of calculating and realized – if I’m fairly faithful with my 10,000 steps a day that between September 2015 and May 2016 I will have walked the equivalent of the length of Ontario – from Moosonee to Windsor. I’m going to blog and vlog (video blog) about my experience, and you can follow my progress here! I’d also love to hear what you’re doing to keep healthy and happy. Please share your photos, videos and stories via social media or by email, by regular mail or by giving the office a call. “Walk with me” – as you may have guessed – is metaphoric as well as practical and literal. In the year ahead, I plan to visit as many districts as possible, to introduce myself, to get to know you, to listen to what’s on your minds and to open the avenues of future dialogue. “Walk with me” is both my modus operandi and my job description.
